We hope you’re resting and taking time for yourselves during this hot summer. Meanwhile, take a moment to catch up on ?July’s activities!?

First of all, from the 9th to the 13th of July took place the Air Cargo Challenge 2024 in Aachen, Germany, hosted by the Aachen Drone Development Initiative and AS Aachen. The Air Cargo Challenge aims to design an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, that conforms to strict regulation requirements. 300 participants from 16 countries, including the USA, India, China, and Australia, traveled to Aachen. The 30 teams watched their planes and others with great enthusiasm and passion, hoping to come out as the best. With the team Akamodell Stuttgart triumphantly taking first place, their victory means that the Air Cargo Challenge 2026 will be held in Stuttgart, already generating buzz and anticipation for another spectacular event!

Secondly, on the 26th of July, we participated in the Farnborough International Airshow. The FIA is one of the world's most prestigious events in the aerospace calendar, showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in the industry. The participants had the unparalleled opportunity to network with industry leaders and to delve into the future of aviation!

Moreover, the final of the Airbus Sloshing Rocket Workshop 2024 edition is set to take place in Lisbon from the 9th to the 15th of August 2024. The ASRW is a hybrid competition in which teams are required to design a low-cost reusable rocket that is destabilized by the movement of water stored in an unpressurized tank located on the rear side of the vehicle. AS Lisboa, the host of this event, is thrilled to welcome all the teams and share the Portuguese culture with the finalists!

Last but not least, we are excited to announce that applications for the Ideathon are now open! Ideathon is an exciting aerospace competition for European students, structured in two dynamic phases. This year's edition is themed around sustainability, with the participating teams designing innovative solutions to real-world challenges presented by our sponsoring companies.
