Today’s centering thought: I place my intention into the vast ocean of possibilities and allow the universe to work through me.
To survive a crisis, you have to double down on who are already are as a business – Ellen Kullman (DuPont, Carbon)
This quote really hit home for me in today’s shared podcast, 4 Core Principles of Crisis Management. I love it not for the obvious reason that it’s timely, but for the acknowledgement of the importance of knowing who you are an what you stand for. When you have a clear vision and mission, decisions get easier. When you have a clear objective and core set of values, the complicated decisions are already made in default.
In habit formation, they talk about the importance of making it easy. You don’t want to have to decide every day to eat well or go for a run. Instead, you want the house to be stocked with good, healthy food so eating poorly isn't an option. Or, you want to start your day with a run so you never have to make the decision to do it.
This quote struck me as the same thing. In a crisis, connecting with your why and leaning on those core behaviors you’ve built and executed on time and time again is so important. When you understand your purpose and the long-term objective, decisions that may seem complicated to others are just obvious and straightforward.
