Biden’s debate performance put “age” on the nightly news. As the nation gets set to “hire” the next President, is it appropriate to take age into account? NO. Federal law prohibits discriminating on the basis of age. A few stats:

  • 49 percent of employees perceive older employees as incompetent with technology
  • 26 percent of workers aged 50 and older report experiencing age-related remarks at work in the past six months.

All ages have advantages and disadvantages and it’s important to build diverse, balanced teams for high performance. Sports as an industry skews younger. Please make sure to not carry an unconscious age bias as you, yourself, age.
