Athletes vs. Crohn's and Colitis Golf Outing

https://athletesvscrohns.org/

As a business, we have had the opportunity to support several charities and organizations benefiting our community. This month, we had the absolute honor to play in the Athletes vs. Crohn’s and Colitis golf outing for a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.?

Nick Zecchino, a former collegiate athlete and with Leap since October 2023, had worked alongside the foundation during his time on the Purdue University Football team. Through the years, he realized first hand living with a chronic illness and reaching full athletic potential is very possible.?

The foundation was founded by Larry Nance Jr., NBA power forward and teenage athlete Noah Weber, both living with Crohn’s disease. Being diagnosed with a chronic disease as an adolescent is scary, and undoubtedly raises questions of what life will start to look like. The foundation’s goal is to help that future not look so scary. Aside from connecting young people afflicted with Crohn’s and Colitis, the foundation raises awareness for the disease, awards scholarships, and donates to finding a cure.?

It was a privilege for our team to play for such an important cause. We are so proud of Nick for all the work he has done with Athletes vs. Crohn’s and Colitis, and we can’t wait to get further involved.??

July's Job Search Advice

More often than not, people imagine what their dream job would look like. Maybe it's a certain salary range? Maybe it's in a certain city? Or maybe it's working with a certain company.?

When this is the case, it takes drive to reach that potential. Some candidates find themselves applying to any role with the company that they may fit. Unfortunately for this type of candidate, the hiring team may perceive the repetitive applications as desperation or the inability to recognize and narrow skills and strengths.?

Instead, when applying to a specific role, applicants should spend the necessary time to build a relationship with the hiring team. Applicants should perfect and submit their application, then send the hiring manager or HR representative a simple note expressing their interest and capabilities for the role. By doing this, the recruiter can put a name behind the resume in a much more personal way. However, it is most important to recognize that the best job fit is the job where you are valued and your goals and drive align with those of the company.?
