Featuring partners and esteemed guests including Al-Hosh Gallery, We Are Museums, Shared Studios, Nas Jota, the Institute for Art and Olfaction, and others, the summit and symposium will occur between National and DC Design Weeks, celebrating art, design, and innovation from Qatar, the United States, and the broader Arab and Islamic Worlds. Throughout the remainder of the summer,?Pearls of Wonder: a digital era?remains open, as we install the next iteration of our IMPART Artists Grant exhibition, expand our popular Perfumery Museum, and launch a special edition of our FOCI Photography exhibition.???
Scheduled to open on Friday, September 1st, QAIC’s expanded Perfumery Museum will feature additional interactive, audio, and historical elements for visitors to engage with, a contemporary art installation by emerging Qatari designer, Almaha Almahmoud, a shop to purchase fragrance-related items, and more! Leading up to our 2023 IMPART Summit and Design Festival, the immersive?2023 IMPART Artists Grant exhibition:?Technology & the Arts, will have a soft opening on October 2nd, and feature new works by Salma Hassaan (Los Angeles, CA), Randa M. (Washington, D.C.), and Farjana Salahuddin (Doha, Qatar). In mid-October, a special edition of our annual FOCI Photography exhibition will open online. Details to be announced.???
We love getting to know and celebrate our members! From special discounted membership rates for students ($30), to exclusive access to D.C. sporting events for our Supporting Friends ($450) and Patrons ($900), there is something for everyone.??
This month three Supporting Friends and Patrons?joined QAIC at the D.C. United vs. Inter Miami?match at Audi Field. These higher tier member-levels also have access to tickets (by raffle) to the D.C. Citi Open tennis tournament.???

Join the Qatar America Institute for Culture and DIY Scent Studio, for an introductory one-hour Perfume Workshop! The workshop will include a brief history of fragrance, and an introduction to perfume structures and scent families. Participants will then be introduced to the world of scents and guided through the process of selecting and blending ingredients, and the fundamentals of creating your own fragrance. Participants will be able to create two scents to take home with them using fresh/musk and amber/musk as a base.???
A limited number of observer tickets remain available to those who are interested in learning more about scent making as an introductory step. As an added bonus, all attendees will be gifted one of QAIC's signature scents created in collaboration with DIY Scent Studio.??

Throughout the summer, QAIC will be opening its doors to the public over select weekends. Whether you are at the Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market, or if you’re in the area and want to check out our current exhibitions, we will be open again this weekend, July 29-30, from 10AM – 3PM. This month, First Friday ArtWalk Dupont coincided with World Chocolate Day. QAIC pulled out all the stops, receiving over 1,000 guests, smashing our record for highest attendance at a single event.??
Through a partnership with locally renowned gelateria, Dolci Gelati, we were able to share scoops of their exquisite chocolate gelato as guests toured our current exhibitions and Perfumery Museum. The aroma of rich chocolate filled the air, which created a mouthwatering ambiance, setting the tone for the evening’s festivities.??
We will be skipping First Friday in August in anticipation of our exhibition’s rotation, and we’ll be thrilled to welcome you back on Friday September 1st?for our Perfumery Museum 2.0 soft opening. Stay tuned!?
Last week, Things to Do DC, in collaboration with QAIC, hosted “A Cultural Evening in Qatar.” At this sold-out event, guests learned about Qatari culture through food, fashion, music, scent, and art.??
The Embassy of the State of Qatar celebrates its annual 4th of July celebration with its DC community.
The annual celebration is a spectacular viewing party of the Independence Day fireworks on the Rooftop of the International Spy Museum. QAIC leadership is thrilled to join this private event every year to celebrate with others this important American holiday.??

On July 13th, QAIC leadership joined the Embassy of Qatar in the?Washingtonian’sannual benefit party which highlighted over 50 restaurants in the DMV area, all in support of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).?
