Unlike trawling through endless web search results, Jugalbandi simplified the process, offering Vandna clarity and ease of understanding. Buoyed by the assistance, Vandna promptly submitted her scholarship application and eagerly awaited the outcome.

The name Jugalbandi held deep significance, drawing inspiration from the Indian classical music tradition where two musicians create something new together through their duet. Similarly, Jugalbandi facilitated a harmonious dialogue between users and the chatbot, generating personalized assistance tailored to their specific needs.?

Equipped with language models from AI4Bharat and reasoning models from Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, Jugalbandi operated seamlessly through the popular mobile messaging platform, WhatsApp.

While the language of government, business, and public life in India predominantly remained English, spoken by a mere 11% of the population, Jugalbandi's multilingual capabilities were a game-changer. Over time, the chatbot expanded its language support to cover 10 out of India's 22 official languages, providing accessibility to approximately 171 government programs. Yet, Jugalbandi's potential extended far beyond its current reach.
