Judging Purposeful Pitches

Judging Purposeful Pitches

Since founding the DuPuis Group in 1988, Steven DuPuis has learned that having a strong purpose in business is challenging—yet it is a strong purpose that sets the DuPuis Group apart. We believe that business can be successful when people and the planet are put first. This concept is woven into the very fabric of DuPuis and is why our clients see us as the company for healthy disruption.

So it makes sense that Steven would be tapped to be a judge for the Purposeful Pitch today, where startups compete to be named the “Most Purposeful Startup in Chicago” and receive a $25,000 prize.

For the event—sponsored by DePaul University’s Coleman Entrepreneurship Center and Mabbly, a Chicago-based digital marketing agency—pre-selected startups will have 5 minutes to tell the judges not only what they do, but why they do it. And then they will tie it to how they will do it.

“A startup’s ‘why,’ meaning their ‘reason to believe,’ is key in today’s business world, where success is found through authentic values,” says Steven.

The event will be held in the auditorium at 1871, launched in 2012 to support Chicago’s growing digital startup community. 1871 is home to over 400 early-stage, high-growth digital startups.
