Judging People - An Art to develop & make Progress in Life
Quality of Judgment enhances Quality of Life
Judging is an art. We keep judging our colleagues, boss, spouse, children, friends, partners, vendors, customers, bankers & all those we are linked up with, every day. If it is done the right way, one finds the most suited job, takes up the right profession / business, compatible partner & generally excels in what one is doing.
Following are 7 things to note while judging others.
- Everyone does not Judge others but many do it. It is a quality & part of nature; it does not depict an ego as people think. Some have it, some don’t. That’s it.
- Judging people correctly happens only after one gain tons of experience & commits a series of mistakes.
- Keep taking decisions, some quick decisions, make mistakes, learn from experience & indulge in bad judgments.
- Never regret a bad judgment. Treat it as an investment & learning. Or else, one does not achieve much. A series of bad judgments will lead to a good decision.
- Indecisive people are poor in Judging. Take decisions & move on.
- Judging a person or a relationship has to be done after weighing the pros & cons -- not an easy task. It is a sign of maturity which has to be inculcated & internalized after a series of incorrect decisions & evaluating various alternatives, Quality of decision making gets improved.
- Judge Silently. Avoid expressing oneself in the open, which is immaturity. Don’t discuss Judgments. It is too personal like one’s income
If the above are practiced sincerely, one becomes a good Judge of people - an essential trait to progress in this world.
Achievers are good at Judging people, situations, relationships & organizations.
