Judge Halts Rule that Expands Overtime Pay

A U.S. District Court Judge has issued an emergency nationwide injunction against an Obama Administration regulation that would have expanded the number of workers eligible for overtime pay.  The ruling prohibits the Department of Labor from implementing and enforcing the Overtime Final Rule, which was scheduled to go into effect on December 1, 2016.  The regulation would have raised the salary threshold indicating overtime eligibility from $455 to $913 per week – $23,660 to $47,476 per year – for over four million workers.  Click here for details.
