Judge a book, by its cover
"Because sometimes
that’s the way to discover
?new,
unknown
and the
un-thought of.”
We read books by the authors we want to read more of, or by their ranks in bestsellers list, or sometimes based on a recommendation from a trusted one. More of them turn out to be predictable, as expected, as intended.
Somehow, over years, the books that have bought me greater joy are the ones that I discovered myself from a sea of titles in a bookshop.
Books
from unknown authors
from unknown places
& of unknown experiences.
Picking an unknown book always feels
like a risk at first.
What if,
what if I don’t like it
looms large.
What if,
it's against my thoughts & everything else that I hold
close to my heart.
What if,
it turns out to be a waste of
the few precious moments
I have left on this earth.
But then,
what is life
without curiosity
and hope
of a discovery
and this is
Just a Book!
Go ahead,
Judge a book
by its intriguing cover,
by the witty title
or by the pretty picture of the author.
Just like life
the little risks
turn out to be great
at rewards!
