J'PURA EXPEDITION

IEEE Student Branch University of Sri Jayewardenepura, proudly organized the J'pura Expedition tech talk series at the Ven Sri Soratha Auditorium, University of Sri Jayewardenepura Faculty of Technology, on February 3rd, 2024.

The event boasted an impressive lineup of guest speakers, each renowned for their expertise in various tech domains. Dr. Ruchira Wijesena , a leading figure in Sri Lanka's tech scene and Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Technology, captivated the audience with his insights on "Key technology trends and How to improve as future professionals". Mr. Dileepa Jayawardena , a seasoned industry professional and Director of Institute of Innovators & RareTokens(PVT)Ltd, shared his practical knowledge and experiences on "How to Use Modern Technology to Get Opportunities". Mr. Ananda Priyadarshana , Founder of PCGuide.lk and popular Youtuber, offered his unique perspective on "Future Trends of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics". Their dynamic presentations, packed with valuable information and actionable advice, sparked lively discussions and ignited a thirst for further exploration.

We had the esteemed presence of Prof. Lasith Gunawardena (Branch Counselor),Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe ,Dr. Akila Wijethunga , Dr. Prabhani Liyanage , Mr. Peshan Sampath , Mr. Lakshan Madhushanka , Mr. Kavinga Upul Ekanayaka , Ms. Vismini Amarasinha , and Ms. Lihini Rajapaksha ,gracing us with their remarkable expertise. Their valuable contributions elevated our discussions and ignited a fervor within us to break new grounds.

J'pura Expedition transcended mere knowledge dissemination. It fostered a collaborative atmosphere where attendees actively engaged with speakers and fellow participants. With around 500 participants in attendance, the auditorium hummed with vibrant dialogue, as students eagerly sought guidance from industry veterans, and professionals exchanged ideas to shape the future of tech. The event served as a valuable platform for networking and building connections within the tech community.
