JPC Monthly Rewind: September 2023

Welcome to the team, David McKenna, and Ian Cahill.

We recently welcomed Ian Cahill as Finance Director (Designate) and David McKenna as Sustainability Manager.

Ian will assume the role of Finance Director in January 2023, following the retirement of current Finance Director, Conor O’Donnell, after 33 years in the role.

About Ian

Ian brings a wealth of experience to his role at John Paul Construction, with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate strategy, reporting, capital markets and analytics for both private and limited businesses.

About David

With over 20 years of international experience, David has an excellent track record working on large scale projects and leading companies in pursuit of their sustainability goals.

As a Chartered Environmentalist, Fellow of Engineers Ireland and holder of numerous other qualifications, David will play an instrumental role in the further development and execution of John Paul Construction’s Sustainability Strategy.

Irish Construction Industry Awards

We have been shortlisted in the following categories for the Irish Construction Industry Awards, our shortlisted projects are:?

1.?Commercial Project of the Year - Garda Security & Crime Operations Centre

2.?Contractor Health/Education Project of the Year - University Hospital Galway, Radiation Oncology Centre

3.?Contractor International Project?– A1 Craighall Junction?

We look forward to attending the award ceremony in The Mansion House on November 2nd.

Project Handover: Grange Residential Development

We are delighted to have recently achieved practical completion on the Grange Residential Development in Stillorgan for our client, Kennedy Wilson.?The project comprised the detailed design, construction, and fitout of 287 apartments, a residential tenant amenity space and a crèche, all arranged across six new blocks with a maximum height of 11 storeys.?Well done to the design team, our project team and our supply chain partners on the delivery of another high-quality project.?

Careers Fairs

In September, our John Paul Construction team attended World Skills Ireland and the ATU Sligo Careers Fair, where they met the next generation of talent to discuss our exciting career opportunities and our Graduate Development Programme.

Next up is Munster Technological University on the 5th of October!

From Dublin to Bad Vilbel and Chicago

The team attended a range of exciting events this month including the BIM Co-Ordinators Summit in Dublin, the German Data Centre Conference in Bad Vilbel, and Groundbreak 2023 in Chicago!
