Joy to The World...and a Dash of Genius

As the days creep through the holidays and closer to yet another new year, I find myself in a state of almost giddiness. Those that know me well are surely a bit perplexed by this. In no small part because I am known to be a bit Grinch/Stooge-ish. It is not, for those of you new to me, because I am a sour person! Just to be clear, I am probably one of the most glass-half-full-in-fact-be-grateful-you-have-a-glass-and-something-to-put-in-it, optimistic people you'll meet! I just have a hard time with conditional love and gratitude. The Christmas holiday can be so full of burdened expectations, obligations, and hypocrisy, I have mostly checked out from the commercialism and do my best to concentrate on family and purpose regardless of the date on the calendar.
That being said, why then am I so giddy? I guess it's because I have a secret. I am in possession of something so fantastic, so miraculous, so awe-inspiring that it makes my toes wiggle just thinking about it! Do you want to know what it is? If you are still reading this, then yes, you probably do. It's....drum roll...Possibility. Yes! Possibility. Don't roll your eyes at me, this is a real gem! What did you think it was some lame new cryptocurrency (no offense crypto lovers out there!)? Seriously, possibility is juicy! I developed an intentional framework for living called The Momentology Method?. I use it to show executive women and high performers how to step up, speak up and level up in business and life with authenticity and integrity.
Learning to operate in a consistent state of awareness, gratitude and aligned expectance (remember what you focus on expands), will make you unbreakable, unstoppable, dare I say - limitless. Move from what is possible to what is doable to what gets done.

Awareness
The possibilities that are available to you when you SERVE unapologetically from your true joy and unique genius are endless. And lest you think this is some Pollyanna, pie-in-the-sky, Christmas miracle kind of article, may I remind you that I'm the lady that received Grinch pajamas for Christmas. Ok, so real talk. The world is made up of givers and takers. Some of them under your own roof. It isn't important what "the world" wants to take from you, what is important is what you want to give it. I say that I "serve" from my joy and genius because it is what I give. The offering I make to the world, to all who choose to receive it comes from a place of joy (that which makes me happy) and genius (that which I am uniquely well suited to do).
Too often we give of ourselves in a state of obligation, often in a state of inadequacy, and wonder why it feels like crap. I once had a client tell me that she loved painting but that didn't "pay the bills", so she pushed those desires away as impractical and decided to "focus on her career". She was a scientist after all, and she didn't have time for frivolous pursuits and distractions. I asked her to humor me and explore that a bit more (insert evil laugh).

Gratitude
?
After a few weeks of trusting the process and using the Momentology Method?, she later thanked me for reawakening her interest in art. Why? First, she started doing small art projects (for fun, imagine that), then started thinking about the other talents and interests she'd buried, then she realized she actually likes sales more than science, and found a way to put her PhD to use in a wholly different way then she'd imagined. A strange thing happened in her "distraction". She got an unexpected bonus?at work. Your gifts will make room for you. Sometimes it's not the goal, it is about who you are being in the pursuit of the goal. If the byproduct is not immediate money in the bank but joy in your heart, can you live with that, or does happiness ruin your day?
By the way, you are actually more productive when you are happier. Happy comes first. Imagine that.

Expectance
So, World Changers, are you ready to lean into that which gives you joy (no judgment)? I mean hey if you like making bracelets out of Twizzlers who am I to stop you? How about unapologetically showing people your unique genius? My 12-year-old daughter loves to study ethics (seriously, she quotes Kant) and uses her expertise when solving mini preteen meltdowns with her friends all the time. They love her for it but think her book choices at Barnes and Noble are a bit weird. She is unbothered.
This holiday season, pour yourself a glass of awareness, sprinkle with gratitude, shake with self-confidence and garnish with a splash of possibility. Anything and everything is possible in the new year to come.
