The Joy of Reading: A Personal Approach to Mental Well-being and Learning

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month this May, I've been reflecting on how my reading habits have contributed to my overall well-being. I read a lot, whether it's books or articles. My purpose is to learn and unplug from the general work routine. Over time, I've seen significant improvements in my mental health and vocabulary and minimized daily burnout. My approach to reading is to find a balance between learning and relaxation. The key is finding your happy medium and what works for you as an individual.

On average, I read between 4-6 books a month. To keep things interesting and avoid monotony, I try to balance different genres, such as biographies, self-help, history, business, and sports. This diversity keeps me engaged and broadens my perspective on various subjects.

Lately, I've been trying to do a better job of tracking my reading on Goodreads . It's a great tool for keeping a record of what I've read and discovering new books based on my interests. The recommendations and reviews from other readers often lead me to fascinating titles I might not have considered otherwise.

What about you? What are you currently reading, and what genres do you enjoy? I'd love to hear your recommendations and experiences. This Mental Health Awareness Month, let's share our reading journeys and support each other's mental well-being through the power of books.
