Success is what every business desires. The thought of becoming successful lies in the consciousness. Surprisingly, this is the seat of the Divine Mother, or what we call Adi Shakti. The bright one inside is the supreme consciousness that lives in the sahasrara chakra at the top of the head. Kundalini Shakti is the cosmic energy of the Divine Mother. It is kept in the muladhara chakra, which is at the base of the spine. Her form is like that of a coiled serpent; hence she is known as Mother Kundalini. She is the mystic fire of primordial energy. She is a fiery occult power that is the force behind all living and nonliving things. She is Parashakti, the subtlest and most potent form of energy. The energy that Devi Kundalini embodies is not a physical energy like electricity, but a spiritual potential. This cosmic power is found in all human bodies and lies dormant in the muladhara chakra. As a part of the universe, it has no shape, but yogis have found that it has a coiled shape in the human body and can be made to rise by using certain techniques. Though all human beings possess this shakti, very few know that they have it, and even fewer know how to make use of it. So, it's clear that all material thoughts, including those about success and failure, are linked to Shakti in some way. Hence, whatever we create using that consciousness is Adi Shakti, because before the creation of anything, it has to be a conscious thought. This very meaning is reflected in the following hymn: "Ya Devi sarvabhuteshu, Vishnumayethi shabdita, Namasthasyai, namasthasyai, namasthasyai namo namaha!" (O Goddess who is known in all creatures as Vishnu Maya, Hail to thee, hail to thee, all hail to thee.)
But just as thought differs from person to person, success too is different. Women tend to view success differently from men. Instead of seeing position and money as the sole markers of success, women prefer to place great value on the quality of their lives at work and the impact of their contributions. This definition of success resonates very closely with why goddesses were very close to people's lives in every civilization. This small cycle of success and failure in the corporate world connects with the higher cycle of the universe. Creation and dissolution follow each other. It is a cyclical process, not the linear one described in Western philosophy. In fact, Shakti is a mass of dormant, undifferentiated energy that rests in Brahman and holds the power of many universes. During the time of creation, this energy blossoms into the real, evolving universe. This is a lot like how our conscious thoughts of success, growth, and development blossom into the real, evolving universe. Thus, whatever we create to build a successful world around us matters. Shakti is cosmic energy, the physical ultimate of all forms of matter. As modern physics has come to acknowledge, matter is nothing but energy in motion. Thus, everything that happens around us, be it enjoying relationships with coworkers and clients, having control over their time, and ensuring that their work makes a positive difference in the world, is also energy in motion. A whole world of tenderness, love, nourishment, and care is centered in the Shakti. She is the embodiment of security. Many don't understand it. This makes a lot of women blind to the behaviors and habits that keep them stuck and prevent them from assuming higher positions because they continue workplace behaviors that no longer serve them for the simple reason that these behaviors seem to have worked for them in the past.
Although women are very hard-working, they go out of their way to avoid taking credit for their work. Some notable reasons why women struggle with claiming their achievements are:
Research has shown that highly educated women have more trouble getting jobs than highly educated men do. Her role has just become to sign along the dotted lines, even if she lands a prestigious job on the corporate board. And how do they explain it? It’s just a governance need, madam, nothing for you to take too much trouble about. Many women feel that speaking up about their achievements makes them look self-serving or self-centered. In fact, it is not so. It's just a sign that you're ready to rise. This feeling of being self-serving or self-centred can be termed as avidya maya. Avidya maya conceals the supreme, and thus the jivatman experiences all types of sorrows. Thus, concealment of self by the feeling of looking like a self-centered or self-serving person can result in a lack of opportunity to rise up, and that may give rise to sorrows like anxiety, stress, etc. This might be the reason for the shocking fact that only 6% of the directors of the 1,463 companies listed on the NSE are women, and 886 of them are yet to appoint a woman director. Marketing yourself well is an important part of every job, and it's the key to moving up the success ladder. Here, good marketing can be seen as a form of vidya maya, which dispels illusions by illuminating our intellect with knowledge of reality. For women to reach their fullest potential, they must show what they have done as specific tasks.
Jnana, or knowledge, is the very nature of the atman. It is the basis of the knowledge of "I am" that every jiva possesses.
This "I am" feeling need not be dependent on others. If we keep expecting others to notice our contributions, we might get stuck. It can also decrease the satisfaction one feels in a job they would otherwise enjoy. If we base this "I am" feeling on others, when people stop praising our contributions, we might start feeling unappreciated and under-acknowledged. To arouse the feeling of "I am" and ensure that your work gets noticed, you can take the following steps:
Zia Mody, who is the founder and managing partner at AZB & Partners, says that women have more patience, a higher EQ, and a willingness to learn than their "know it all" male counterparts. Harsh Mariwala, the chairman of Marico, says that women have a calming effect when it comes to getting boards to agree on things and encouraging growth and new ideas. Marico has had a female director since 2005. It is clear from this statement that corporations do recognize women's contributions. The problem is elsewhere. When others do not notice women's efforts, they might start to get resentful of their colleagues who are skilled at getting recognized. The assumption that expertise is the surest route to success is not accurate. It is an illusion, which is better known as maya, and it is inherent in me. It is co-eternal with me. Why is it not accurate or an illusion inherent in me? This is because the top jobs require managers to lead people who have expertise, but they do not have to provide any expertise themselves. Mastering every detail of the job with the aim of becoming an expert is a valuable strategy for keeping the job, but it might not take them to a higher level. Most women have trouble getting recognized for their accomplishments, so they tend to put too much value on their expertise.
Women are known to have exceptional relationship skills, but it appears that most of them don't benefit from them. Women sometimes have various reasons for developing relationships. They prefer to be friends with a successful friend because they need someone to talk to about their work; they just want everyone to like them. None of this is bad. But someone won't be able to reach their full potential if they don't use the relationships they've built to help them achieve their goals. Women should seek to become more intentional in building relationships that may be beneficial to them in the future. Dissolution of unwanted relationships can be helpful. In this case, the idea of pralaya, which is based on time, substance, and qualities, can give us important clues. By understanding the concepts of Nitya Pralaya, Maha Pralaya, and Prakritika Pralaya, it is possible to get rid of these types of relationships. Let us understand them one-by-one:
Once this is done, allies like sponsors, peers, higher-ups, colleagues, and colleagues who support their efforts to get where they want to go can be sorted out.
Women are vulnerable to the perfection trap—the belief that their success is tied to doing their job perfectly and never messing things up. Most successful women take failure personally. They tend to blame themselves and become anxious and upset over their mistakes instead of moving on. One way to solve this problem would be to learn how to set priorities, delegate tasks, and be okay with taking calculated risks. This would make everyone's lives less stressful and show a willingness to move forward.
To take calculated risks, the concept of ahamkara, or cosmic ego, can be helpful. The whole manifested world comes from the vibrations of sound. The cosmic ahamkara proceeds from this. From this come the five subtle elements, and then the five gross elements, the five organs of knowledge, the five organs of action, and the four aspects of the mind (manas, buddhi, ahamkara, and chitta). If the mind is the seat of our consciousness and the prioritization and delegation are done according to four aspects of the mind, it may lead to a less stressful environment instead of striving to be perfect. That creates a negative mindset in which every little thing that goes wrong is bothersome.
Corporates shouldn't stop women from taking part. Instead, they should help them realize their full potential and become one with the pulsing energy field that makes up everything. It is the central engine of our being and our consciousness—our alpha and omega. They must help women realize that there is no duality between the universe and us. We are connected to every single thing in the cosmos by this one underlying energy field called "Adi Shakti".
