Joy, Learnings and Gratitude - an 2021 Reflections

2021 for me was a truly unique year, it was a story of growth and resilience during uncertainty. It was more about finding your own space in an increasingly changing & challenging environment, and mini-experiments to expand the shell of comfort & learning despite the constraints in the real world.

From a Slalom perspective, while we won several accolades and awards - few of them that are close to me was being rated Best Workplaces for Parents? 2021 , our NYC Growth Story @ TimesSquare, Salesforce Partner innovation for our work with Amazon Air and OnSide and AWS National System Integrator Partner of the Year . These honors are a testament to the impactful work we do every day and the authentic and inclusive culture that we are working towards building at Slalom on a daily basis.

Few of my personal learnings this year :

• You can still create connections in the Hybrid workplace ; you just might need to change the models
• Investing in our clients always results in the best rewards, whether via pro-bono cloud work or upfront strategic guidance. The passion you show to solve their challenges always ends up with lasting connections; even when they don't end with a big-bang engagement. This year I had previous clients/connections reach back only because of the previous connection we built.
• Growing people : This year our practice grew at a phenomenal rate; this not only meant that I was interviewing multiple people every week, but also realized that as a People Leader it is my focus to enable their professional growth and success here at Slalom. I am so glad for the people who have entrusted me with shaping their professional journey.

Finally as a note of gratitude, while Slalom will be donating to Covenant House New York on behalf of our clients. I am planning to make my holiday donation to Feeding America ; not only are they Slalom's clients but I have also seen the work they do to ensure families don't go hungry during the Holidays.
