Joy in the J-O-B, after 6 months in

I am celebrating my 6 month anniversary at Pantheon! I know it may seem a bit unusual to? “celebrate” a work anniversary after only 6 months, but I wanted to take this opportunity to pause, reflect and share what excites me about my Pantheon journey thus far.

The J-O-B

For those that don’t already know, Pantheon is a WebOps platform that empowers developers, designers, marketers and IT professionals to seamlessly work together to create websites that deliver extraordinary results. Our platform is focused on improving collaboration for web teams. My role as head of partner marketing, along with my super star reports and my colleagues in Pantheon’s partner organization, is to grow and support those teams that come from outside the client’s organization - namely, agencies and other partners in our ecosystem.

And let's face it: every company, no matter what size or stage in their growth cycle, could use some outside support for their website. Whether it's simply some extra developer hours to manage maintenance and support, or reacting to a merger that requires a new digital strategy for the combined organization, Pantheon’s partners can help across a whole range of web-related services, including digital strategy, design and branding, website development, user experience and accessibility, performance optimization, website security and more!

I love working with our partners. It gives me a front-row seat into the best practices that some of the most creative, innovative and technologically advanced companies are employing to make their websites better. I get to work with partners that are using Pantheon to help our clients deliver cutting-edge campaigns, provide mission-critical services and inspire a whole new generation of thinkers who are finding new ways to harness the power of the internet. It's also been a real joy for me to expand my attention to an audience that I can identify with first-hand, marketers. In a recent survey of more than 400 marketing and IT leaders conducted by Pantheon and Hanover Research, 42% of respondents said working with others to develop and manage their website is their biggest challenge. As a marketer, I know all too well the frustrations of not being able to make changes to the company website when you’re ready. We’ve all experienced that helpless feeling of waiting for tech to support your plans. The partners that are using Pantheon to solve these challenges create a whole different level of satisfaction for me, and I’m excited to work even more closely with them.

Now the real scoop on why I'm joyful

The People - Day in, day out, I get to work with an incredible group of Pantheors, who are wicked smart, helpful, authentic and teaming together towards mutual success. The company has a weekly "Props" process, where you thank people for their contributions and efforts and I'm mulling over putting a weekly ticker in my calendar for this, because there are so many incredible people that I have thanks for week over week.

The Vision and Strategy - Every company I've ever worked for has this question or some variation on their employee survey, "Do you understand your company's vision and strategy?" Such a simple question, yet I've had occasions in my past, where the overwhelming number of employees are selecting 'no.' Not the case at Pantheon. Everyone knows and it's reiterated and progress is shared every Monday in the company's weekly kick-off.

The Culture - Company cultures are nuanced and certainly comprised of different elements. What I've appreciated most about being at Pantheon is that I feel I can be ME, not feel "othered", be listened to and even be celebrated for the thinking and perspectives I bring to the table. There is also an esprit de corps spirit of revolution, change and equality around having an open web and making the internet work for everyone on the planet. How cool is that?

The Leadership - OK. Bringing this one home, because I am in this group. Pantheon is a founder led company, funded by investors who are in it for the long-haul. Their ethos of transparency and authenticity is a blue-print on the company. For me (and reminder this article is from my POV) I appreciate that founders and my up-level leaders, always listen first and yep, I've heard several "Well, this won't work and..." But there is also a willingness to accept the great idea and the new perspective.

So friends…if you are an agency focused on delivering extraordinary results for your clients, I want to hear from you! And if you are a marketer or developer looking for help across any number of web-related challenges, I want to hear from you! If you are a looking for a great SaaS company and experience, I want to hear from you!

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to sharing more soon and I appreciate you reading my "happy dance" job satisfaction post.

I agree with Vee...great photo and smile. And it got me thinking. Do you remember wearing suits to work? Same smile, but now it's jeans and llamas!
