Journeys And Dreams

The initial steps always prove daunting. It is easy to over-think and get caught up inside your own head. But from the first step, the next steps become a bit easier. Progress, regardless of its pace or magnitude, is progress.   

It has been a month since I officially launched my consultancy and advisory practice and already feeling the love from new clients and everyone that I have had great fortune to meet.  And based on initial feedback (albeit from a relatively small sample size), there are an abundance of startups that have a compelling story, are in a great position to scale and grow and have Founders that possess the passion and drive to succeed.     

In my humble opinion (and observation), the common “success” thread that’s woven throughout these organizations is the infectious passion that is encoded in their Champions. They may be the Founders -- especially true for smaller companies – or key members of the organization, as the Champions are the people who wear their passion and commitment on their sleeve. They are the foundation in which a company’s success is built and I feel truly fortunate to have had a chance to work alongside and learn from each of them. 

And what I have been able to validate and confirm is my own excitement. The excitement for opportunities to work with MORE Champions and to help guide and support them in realizing their success.   

While I do not possess the secret sauce that will guarantee success, I do have over 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles as well as consulting for various organizations and have had the privilege of contributing to the success of several great organizations. 

And my vision and aspiration extend beyond simply helping organizations grow. I am keen to work with the Founders and the Champions to grow their personal capabilities and to help them prepare for the challenges of leading a larger organization. Whether that is to hone their communication skills, help build high performance teams, or coach them through customer challenges, my aim is to support the individuals -- the Champions -- in concert with helping organizations meet their priority objectives.  

A lofty goal, but absolutely worth the pursuit!
