The yoking or union of the mind, body, and soul. That my friends, is the definition of yoga. It’s not about being flexible or being able to stand on your head/hands; those abilities just come with the journey(most of the time). Now did I know these things when I first dabbled in the practice? Nope! For the longest I associated yoga with cheerleading, believing that they were similar enough for me to use yoga to fill the void left by eliminating cheerleading from my life. I started at just five years old and stopped at 19. Combine those 14 years of cheer-tastic fun with severe attachment issues(something that yoga has helped me with tremendously), and you get some good ol struggle.
