A Journey throughout the Fake Content That I saw ONLY this week!

I was never this sceptical person who question everything they see on the Internet; I used to trust most of the things that I see online (except for these badly photoshopped celebrities pictures). But it really opened my eyes last week when I was introduced to few tips and tricks to detect fake news. I payed extra attention last week to some of the online content that I came across, and let me tell you... That was hell of a journey!

1-??The New I-phone 13.

We all know that the New I-phone 13 just came out and It's design looks no different than the I-phone 12 or the ones that came out before when it comes to concept or outer design. The I-phone 13 still has the same flat slim concept or look, nothing too crazy. I bet that the next 3 or 4 I-phones will have the same outer design as well, maybe with only minor differences such as adding more cameras because it appears that one camera is not enough for Apple.

I consider myself an Apple loyal costumer as I keep buying more and more products from them so I was shocked to learn that Apple will release another I-phone 13 'Allegedly soon' with a flip phone concept!

I came across a Facebook post earlier this week that someone uploaded on an entertainment Facebook group for Apple fans with a picture of the new flip I-phone 13 that will invade the market soon.

The first thing that I felt in my guts was: This picture looks off, and odd for a number of reasons:

?Samsung came out with a flip phone this year that was marketed all over social media for a couple of months. Despite the fact that this phone flopped miserably as it prove a flop phone is not really what people want in 2021, Apple will never do that! If Apple will also do a flip phone I don't think that it will pass like wind and nobody will talk about it.

Also,?I found absolutely no pictures of this phone anywhere (Most importantly no where on their website) I only found the picture that is attached above uploaded by questionable Facebook pages with people that are too excited with this fake picture. Finally, it only took me one Google click to find plenty of articles that warn people about this fake picture.

2-?Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Live Video.

Trust me, this piece of news should not interest anyone. However, for those who want to learn about something fake and those are curious about singer Justin Bieber and his wife's private life and singer Selena Gomez's private life, you are going to like this.

So, a quick backstory: singer Justin Bieber and singer Selena Gomez used to date and it was a tough love story that was super public and messy. Eventually, they broke up (The breakup was really messy and nasty) and Justin got married to Model Hailey Baldwin, now Hailey Bieber, and they are living a very happy and healthy married life.

So, moving on from that, while i was having my daily 5 hours of TikTok I came across a very strange video of Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin, from their home, having a conversation with Selena Gomez via live Video! It was so strange for me because it's almost impossible for these three people to be talking peacefully and joking around after their very public bad history together. They literally cant stand each other.

Only few steps that I used made me realize that this video was fake. Selena Gomez went live on April 30th on Instagram alone wearing this same sweater, same hairstyle and sitting on the same couch. She went live to interact with her fans and give few life updates.

While earlier on April 5th, Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin went live on Bieber's Instagram page, wearing the same cloths that they appeared to be wearing in the fake video, to talk to model Kendall Jenner.

Whoever made this video wanted us to believe that the relationship between Bieber and Selena is all good not and they are friends or whatever. Unfortunately this is not true. This live video never happened. They both went live but with other people.

3- Mohamed Abo Trika Tweet

First of all happy Halloween! Second, lets just agree that Halloween is not not everybody's cup of tea, especially for former Football player Mohamed Abo Trika. Trika "allegedly" tweeted an angry tweet about Halloween on Twitter saying that if Halloween was an Islamic feast, people would have attacked it and attacked Islam for encouraging children to wear violent looking customs.

Regardless of the content of the tweet and how its plausible that someone with Trika's ideas might actually write something like that, however, it just looks fake.

I knew it from the second I saw it for a few reasons. First, this tweet is not only nowhere on his official account, but also nowhere on other tweet tracking websites. Second, this screenshot is stamped with another page's name "Sarcastic Comment/ElcommentSsa5er" so the screenshot does not look genuine; it gives a vibe of something that has been stamped out to only carry their name for click-baiting purposes. Third, when I took a look at the rest of this page's content, i figured out that most of the content there is not less fake that this Trika's tweet such as other -Fake- tweets. Fourth, just look at the font here and that weird blueish greyish shade that is surrounding the letters; you will never find something like that on Twitter. Finally, when I took a look at the hashtag, this tweet or anything similar to it by Trika was nowhere to be found.

4- Alazhar banning Pig's Kidney transplant in a human body

There has been an ongoing debate about whether or not its forbidden "Islamically" to put a pig's Kidney inside a diseased human body for medical purposes of course. Some people on Facebook were going crazy over the fact that its absolutely Islamically forbidden to use anything that is pig related even if you are dying and in desperate need for a kidney (As if people just fancy to walk around with a pig's kidney).

At some point in the middle of this debate earlier this week, a picture with a headline started to appear a lot on my Facebook feed that says that Al-Azhar is confirming that it is completely forbidden to use a pig's kidney in a human body for medical purposes. And the surprise was that Al Jazeera was the one who published this piece of news.

Unfortunately, I could not go and check Al-Jazeera's website myself because we all know why, but I took a little walk around other websites to check the accuracy of this news.

Pig's meat is forbidden to eat in Islam for religious reasons, and at the end of the day we have a lot of other things and proteins to eat so its not a big problem. But why would it be forbidden to make a pig's kidney transplant that will save someone's life? Why would that be a problem?

The first thing that I was taught while learning about spotting false news was that we should 'Read past the headline' and here exactly where I knew that something was wrong. There was nothing past the headline. There was no article with any headlines and anything past the headline. The only thing I found when I was researching this topic was other articles that say the exact opposite.

It appears that Alazhar actually confirmed that its allowed to make a pig's kidney transplant in a diseased human body who actually needs this transplant. Many prominent news agencies published articles that confirms the fact that the transplant is allowed.

SkyNews Arabia published it, Al-Wattan news, El-shrouk, Al-Ahram and more news agencies published that Al Azhar confirmed that its okay to make the transplant if your life really depends on it. They said that If the transplant will benefit someone's body more than not doing the transplant, then it's allowed.

To wrap up, Just know that the 'Sharing is Caring' concept is not the wisest especially when it comes to social media. Always remember that there are millions of social media users around the world and not all of them have the same beliefs thats why you will find so many news and information that people fake to deliver certain information for you to believe and take for granted. Teach yourself to always do some digging and research whenever you find anything on social media.

Take Care!
