Journey...
A great way to start your journey towards more self-confidence is by surrounding yourself with your friends and loved ones. In 1990, I was appointed as a Sales & Marketing Manager of the Saudi Gazette Newspaper- Okaz Organization for Press & Publication in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. One bright morning I received a call from Mr. Syed Akbaruddin, a Press Attaché of the Indian Embassy, proposing the newspaper to publish a supplement on the Republic day of India. The issue was well received. After five years, I was transferred to Jeddah as the Corporate Head of the supplement division for Saudi Gazette & Akbaruddin was appointed as a Consul General of India in Jeddah. After completing his tenure he was transferred to some other country. I wished him good luck for a better post in future, our mutual business relationship developed, & we became family friends. After a few years, he was posted as the Ambassador of India in Saudi Arabia; it was great meeting him again & we produced grand supplements together projecting bilateral trade ties with India & Saudi Arabia & other important issues. Later, he was transferred to New Delhi as a spokesperson of MEA, Govt. of India. My kids completed their schooling, & after working 25years, I finally said good bye to my Newspaper & immigrated to USA in 2009. This January, Akbaruddin was appointed as a permanent representative of India at the United Nations. Yesterday I visited his office in New York & congratulated him for his new position; our conversation ended on a lighter note, wishing him for his next position. :)
