The Journey

The Journey

Everything good or bad starts with a journey and so does this one. After all the celebrations in front of the college, we finally started our bus journey which I slept through while others were busy celebrating. But things got spicy as the train journey met some important moments that were present in the train.

The first moment was the meeting with a 7-year-old girl named Tusbia and that encounter happen to be one of the best moments on the journey. As I had written in my previous article Finding Happiness this encounter was one of the important ones as it was during a phase that was making me question everything. The most important result from this encounter indirectly helped me enjoy the entire industrial visit more than I would have if I have if there was no such meeting that happened. I also met another fellow traveller who was going to Kashmir to enjoy a vacation. Well, as funny as he was a bit of a show-off too.

But of all the things during the journey, the most important part for the entire journey was a small five-minute stop at a railway station in Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Though it was nothing for a general person for me it was a monument that carried many memories of when I to was a Jhansiwala and that five minutes were only needed to bring back all the wonderful memories I had experienced during my stay there and unknowingly brought both tears and smile to face at the same time. But again I went back to the fun-filled cabin with all of us singing or playing various games as soon as the whistle blew.

And while the travel to the destination was fun-filled, the coming back too had its own moments. The first one was meeting our friends from Government Engineering College Kannur and especially the voice of our university students my good friend Abhijith Dasan was a really fun time. And most of all the fun one can have nothing can top watching an IPL opener of Chennai Super Kings on a train with the compartment filled with college students was something of a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The entire train was transformed into a mini stadium with everyone visibly upset whenever the net gets cut while the train is out of network reach.

By the end, the journey was as lovely and happy as the destination. Someone had once said ‘destination is the only thing that matter’ but this journey proved to me that a beautiful journey can make a destination even more memorable.
