When I reached the “Debugging and Optimizing Prompts” module in my ChatGPTeacher-created curriculum, I was excited.
It sounded technical, important, and like a skill that required me to don my big black-framed glasses—the ones that make me look just like the nerd emoji ??. (Visual aid provided below.)
But then... hopes of technical mastery were dashed.
The big debugging activity? “Practice fixing ambiguous or overly broad prompts.”
Um… isn’t this just… prompting?
Naturally, I asked ChatGPTeacher, “What’s the difference between what I do now when I refine a prompt and debugging?”
Turns out… there isn’t one.
Confusion cleared. The good news? I apparently have sufficient practice in debugging to move on to the next module.
Have you ever built up something in your head, only to realize it wasn’t as complicated as you thought? Tell me I’m not the only one.
