Our Inception: The Birth of Microfuse

Established in the year 2017 within the walls of Makerere University, Microfuse Computer Technologies was founded by Mr. karugaba ivan and other project colleagues with a vision to narrow the digital gap in East Africa. The founders recognized the necessity for dependable and affordable technology solutions that could uplift communities and stimulate technological development. With a dedicated team of engineers, designers, and innovators, we embarked on a journey to develop products that could truly make a difference.

Our Goal: Combating Computer Illiteracy

Our objective is straightforward: "to combat computer illiteracy in Uganda & Africa at large" especially in underserved regions of Africa by crafting and producing budget-friendly while efficient computers and gadgets. We are dedicated to creating low-energy devices suitable for areas powered by solar energy with limited or no access to electricity. Our aim is to ensure that everyone, irrespective of their socio-economic background, can embrace the digital era.

Our Breakthroughs: Pioneering Technological Advancements

Microfuse Computer Technologies leads the way in innovation, continuously pushing the boundaries of what is achievable. Some of our notable products and services include:

• Fuse Stick: A compact and potent device that converts any screen into a fully operational computer. Its compatibility with any HDMI enabled device and portability makes it ideal for regions with restricted technological devices and relatively limited on space.
• Low-Energy consuming Computers: Our computers are designed to function efficiently, consuming minimal energy while maintaining optimal performance. Ideal for educational institutions, businesses, and households in solar-powered areas.
• PCB, Electrical, Mechanical Designing and Manufacturing: We provide comprehensive PCB designing and consumer electronics manufacturing services to cater for the diverse requirements of our clients in the manufacturing and consumer industry as per B2B and B2C models of business, ensuring high quality and precision in every project while promoting "Buy Uganda Build Uganda"(BUBU) promotion of industrialisation.
• Training Programs: We believe in empowering the next generation of tech innovators. Our Training of Trainers (T.O.T) programs equip educators with the skills to train students in electronic product and design development.

Future Outlook: The Path Ahead for Microfuse

As we progress, we stay true to our mission and vision as we continue to innovate. We are enthusiastic about our ongoing projects and partnerships, such as collaborating with the National ICT Innovation Hub , Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, National Information Technology Authority-Uganda , Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat of Uganda , 高通 , and many other organsisations. We have participated in both local & international events like the AMCHAM 2024 Business Summit in Nairobi, The Intellectual Property Conference 2024 by MoICT, The Parliamentary Science and Technology Retreat 2024 in Namanve, and many others. We have also won various awards such as the 2017 Intellectual Property Awards organised by Uganda Registration Services Bureau URSB and we emerged the overall winner in the ICT & Multimedia category.

From local schools utilizing our devices to educators benefiting from our training programs, each individual contributes significantly to our collective success. Highlight: Impactful Narratives

A rewarding aspect of our work is witnessing the positive influence our technology has on lives. For example, consider St. Joseph's College School in Obachi, Arua disctrict, Uganda. Before partnering with Microfuse Computer Technologies, the school lacked modern digital access in the computing world, depriving students of essential digital skills. Today, thanks to our affordable, low-energy and efficient computers plus trained educators, these students are creating digital art, and exploring the tech world, preparing them for a brighter future as far as their education journey goes.
