A Journey of Hope, Impact, and Transformation

A Journey of Hope, Impact, and Transformation

For the past five months, I’ve been engaged in capturing and sharing the stories of lives transformed by the #RISEProgramme. For many women and men I spoke with, Marie Stopes was their only option to getting a free contraception that enabled them to space their children and take care for their families better.

In my conversations with health workers, it became clear that many had no prior experience in offering contraception services—skills that are often not covered during their formal nursing education. They spoke of how the mentorship they received from Marie Stopes not only enhanced their capabilities but also empowered them to make a significant impact on the communities they serve. Last week, we marked the bittersweet close of the program at the national level, following five successful regional events across the country.

It’s always an honour to be trusted with organizing high-level stakeholder engagements of this significance. The experience has been rewarding and humbling, reminding me of the real impact of the work in giving dignity to women and their families.

Your dedication and hard work, along with the team at Marie Stopes Uganda, are truly making a positive impact in Uganda. Lowering the last-mile access of reproductive health services is crucial, and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!
