Journey of Growth: My Transformational Experience at FEST Travel

In the exceptionally scorching heat of July 1996, I first set foot into FEST Travel, a place that would mould my professional life in ways I could never have anticipated. At that juncture, I was oblivious to the incredible journey that lay ahead of me. The idea of carving out a long tenure at this intriguing and highly regarded establishment, officially known at that time as Sun Turizm ve Tic. A.?., seemed too surreal to be true. The prospect of remaining in one place for an extended period of time had seemed unfathomable to me, as I had not encountered anyone who had done so before. Yet, here I am, years later, continually growing, learning, and evolving every single day.

Prior to joining FEST Travel, my career in the tourism industry had been rather one-dimensional, primarily working with run-of-the-mill brochure groups in a predictable "fill and empty" style. However, immersing myself in the colourful and multifaceted world of FEST Travel completely revolutionized my perception of the industry. It was here that I discovered the true essence of travel and tourism, which made me fall head over heels in love with it.

I remember my first interaction with Faruk Pekin as if it was yesterday. His wisdom and knowledge were immediately evident, making him a trustworthy figure from the get-go. Although the wide array of Anatolian destinations he mentioned initially seemed daunting, he enlightened me about a unique aspect of tourism that prioritizes culture and sustainability. This was a game-changer, completely transforming my outlook on the tourism industry.

The genuine warmth and friendliness that I felt during my first handshake with Mr. Faruk remains as vivid as ever and has been a constant throughout my tenure. Like any meaningful relationship, we've experienced our share of ups and downs, but it's a bond that is as deep and enduring as a familial connection. This relationship is one of the highlights of my professional life and an asset I deeply cherish.

My journey with FEST Travel has been an enlightening voyage of constant learning and personal growth. I began as a novice, with limited knowledge of the industry, and have gradually evolved towards becoming an expert. It's been an incredible 28 years. FEST Travel, akin to a school of life, has introduced me to a plethora of unique human experiences. It's been a place that allowed me to stumble and fall, only to lend a helping hand to get me back up and support me through thick and thin. It's whispered words of encouragement in my ear, "Nothing is impossible if you believe in it." I chose to believe then, I continue to believe now, because FEST Travel has instilled in me an unwavering belief in myself.
