The Journey of Growth: Katherine Masangkay’s Decade and a Half at Allsec

Way back in 2008, when I started out at Allsec as a Customer Service Representative, I was new to the BPO Industry. Allsec was my introduction to the space. Today, I am an experienced Team Leader, having spent 14.5 years in this wonderful company, and I feel like I’m a walking testament to Allsec’s tagline – Building Lasting Relationships.

I cannot describe my Allsec experience as anything short of a thoroughly enjoyable rollercoaster ride. It has had its fair share of ups and downs, but I’m still having fun. Climbing the success ladder at this company for over one and half decade was a delight! However, life at Allsec isn’t without its own challenges. Early in my career as a Customer Service Representative, I struggled to achieve my targets. My support team was extremely considerate, and went above and beyond to aid me.?

Today, being the Team Leader of a diverse group of people comes with a unique set of challenges. My team includes people from all walks of life – from those with a ton of experience to new joinees who need extra attention and assistance. I also work with international team members and have to face language barriers. Nevertheless, my passion for the work, the support from my team and my social skills help overcome all such obstacles.

There’s so much to admire about Allsec. For instance, the ever-increasing team effort is at the core of Allsec’s success. Every Allsec member has contributed to the company’s resounding success. However, it is Allsec’s emphasis on continuous learning that has kept me connected to the company. Through the years, I have been transferred across various lines of business. In the beginning, I was hesitant about the transfers – too afraid to step out of my comfort zone. With time, Allsec taught me that changes are nothing to be afraid of. When I look back at my journey, these are the moments that have defined my career at Allsec. If I could speak to my younger self, I would tell her to treat every day as a learning opportunity.

As for my journey forward, I envision growth – but not just for myself. Growth can also be about helping others move forward. I hope to see each and every member of my team become a leader one day.
