Is it the number of acronyms behind your name?

Or before?

Is it the number of degrees on your wall?

Or the collection of glittering awards on your shelf?

Is it the title at the front of your desk?

Or the number of digits on your payslip?

Is it the number of deals you've closed?

Or the ones you've finished successfully?

All these are moving targets

Bringing only short-lived fulfilment

Becoming outdated and mundane, every now and then

Being toppled over each year by something new

Or someone better.
