Journey of a girl to woman- the new Bill

I have been a person who has always been an advocate for treating women as equals. My goal had always been supporting girl education and at some point in my life to open a NGO for the same.

And all the passion grew stronger, with the birth of my princess, my daughter.

Women are the creators, the handlers and the balancers of the world. Their importance cannot be expressed in words.

But the sad truth being, Indian laws, with a lot of Indian mindset, does not support the growth of women at large. They have to fight their own battles.

But this new development, when the government might soon table a bill, as the center gives a nod, on the law to legalize and bring the age of marriage for girls, at par with boys, will be a game changer. This will not only give a chance for girls to complete their education, but also start getting financially independent.

A law, much needed since long. I have seen girls getting married at the raw age of 18, where many do not even get the opportunity to complete their basic education of graduating, let alone doing some masters.

A major reason why women are suppressed is because they are not financially independent. This will give them the chance to start working, and understand the need of this kind of independence as well.

So I strongly support this bill and am looking forward for this law to be passed, so girls in our country turn into a women at 21, and not at an early age of 18.

This is indeed a much much needed law to be implemented in India.
