As mentioned earlier, the R&D process kicks off with identifying a consumer need for personal care. This need can manifest in various ways: A new trend making waves worldwide, identified by the R&D internally (this technology is the future, and we should adopt it), brought to us by our consumers (help us embrace our curly hair) or uncovered by our researchers through regular market combing and customer surveys (we discover problems you didn’t know you had). Once a demand is materialized, and the concept is developed, the protocol is set in motion.

Step 1 involves profiling the main target audience for the product and understanding their specific needs and desired benefits. This enables us to determine the product features, select appropriate technologies, establish a competitive edge, and add value. With this information settled, we power through! We source ingredients; prime, sustainable, and eco-friendly ones. We select principal agents, craft the texture, choose the fragrance… basically we put together the most efficient & quality formula we can muster.

Finally, we focus on designing the overall user experience: packaging, format, and every little other detail, leading to the creation of the first prototype: Soldier Zero. This selfless “hero” will endure the most brutal treatments to set the standard for subsequent iterations. Following excruciating tests, quarantine, quality control, and physical stress tests, we apply the necessary tweaks, measuring its safety, performance & stability. Soldier One subsequently emerges, ready to lead the charge, and this cycle continues until we perfect the product that will steal your heart.
But the R&D contribution doesn’t stop there. We accompany the marketing and creative teams in designing the final label: the wording, the colors, the design, the communication, and all the steps that will make sure the product stands out on shelf. We also closely follow up with procurement making sure the timely sourcing of ingredients and materials, with quality for formulations stability, ingredients safety and performance vs. consumers’ perception. And we are married to production monitoring the launch process and Leadtime. In the end creating the product is the first step; we want to guarantee its impact by keeping an eye on competition, the product’s feasibility as well as the remaining 3P’s. Positioning, placement, and promotion.

We often go beyond industry standards through internal benchmarks and advanced testing from Raw Material Analysis, Stability Testing, Safety Assessments, Efficacy Testing, Microbiological Testing, Packaging Compatibility, and Process Validation, to meet European ones. We strictly abide by the updated EU Regulations and seek external testing to ensure compliance whenever needed. Our products conform with many countries’ regulations, are registered, and smoothly shipped and sold in more than 22 countries.
