A Journey from 10 under privileged students to 1,00,000 kids across India

10 Million Smiles

Prayas Innovation started in 2013 with a vision to provide basic educational infrastructure to students. We identified a very basic yet critical problem, kids in semi urban and rural areas have to sit in odd posture on floor for long hour irrespective to any weather conditions (from -20 to 50 degree Celsius). Which lead to many issues like Backache, Wrist pain, Elbow pain at very early stage and in the night many of them does not have Light (electricity) to study.

We came with Yelo Bag Idea : A innovative low cost, water resistant bag which converts into writing desk and once the writing part done it can be used as a sitting stool also powered with solar LED lamp. Yelo Bag was awarded as "Best startup idea - ASIA" and was featured in FORBES 30 under 30.

The idea was to reach under privilege kids free of cost with the help of corporate (CSR), individual donors, ngo's and foundations. We started this journey with 10 students from Rajasthan and today we have reached 1,00,000 students free of cost all across INDIA.
