The initial reason behind why I set up my company actually came as a response to what I would call a much needed intervention. After identifying that there was a need to provided a support network for mums coupled with my own personal experience of being a mother living South London, who left home at an early age (16 to be precise). As a result of my family breakdown and the separation of my parents. Not being able to cope with my parents separating caused me to leave the family home as a young 16 year old teenager. Understanding the true meaning of venerability and becoming impressionable and attracted to all the wrong things has equipped me and shaped my career pathway to date.
My lived Experiences has enabled for me to become a successful business owner and i'm not talking financially successful. Establishing my organisation and has help me to create piratical innovative solutions to challenges that other practitioners working in the third sector would describe as complicated and hard to understand.
Celebrating Young Mums Support Network's 5th year in business recently I can proudly say that we have stood the test of time and that we ready to go the full length.
I have decided to take the recent advice I received which was to become a subject matter expert in my chosen field and key influence in this space. Why, because I know I am the correct person for it. Why else would the; media, press, radio, small and large companies, statutory and non statutory organisations nationally and internationally be constantly knocking and asking for advice, consultancy and support strategies from myself on how best to establish support networks for young mums in communities with face complex challenges.
Lookout for what we are about to do in the next five year time it's now time to step it up a gear.
