The Journey to an ESG Future

As part of our continuous commitment to support Lebanon and the growth of our nation’s economy, I am proud to share that GMRL has pledged to adopt Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) best practices and work towards ESG certification as part of the Lebanon ESG Stewardship Program.

Supported by the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Trade and Investment Facilitation (TIF) project, and implemented by Capital Concept S.A.L., the newly launched program will enroll 100 Lebanese corporates and small and medium enterprises to guide and help enable the adoption of internationally recognized and accepted ESG standards. Moving forward, there will be changes made across GMRL to abide by these requirements and meet the criteria to get ESG certified.

These best practices will result in improved management, increased access to funds, and an opportunity for us to create more jobs and opportunities for the public residing in Lebanon. We will also have access to new markets and be able to further expand our business capabilities and improve the skillset of our employees across GMRL businesses.

We look forward to kicking off this journey with the support of USAID, TIF and Capital Concepts in creating a better future for GMRL, Lebanon’s people, and the country as a whole.
