A Journey to Core Values
Hi all,
?I always hear and read about personal core values. So I decided I want to try to figure mine out, and really work on living by them. There’s plenty of info out there on how to live by them – Brené Brown has worksheets on her website, but very little on how to decide which ones are right for you.
?There are random quizzes out there, but really, how helpful are those? I feel like this is something you need to live, and not just pick off of a list.
?So I decided to embark on a year-long journey to really learn what will work for me. Using Brene Brown’s list, I narrowed down, which was hard to do, to twelve values which I feel I identify with, or want to identify with. I will be working on one each month and documenting it.
?The one I chose for January is uniqueness. Something I think I identify with a lot.
?Dictonary.com defines uniqueness as the quality of being the only one of its kind, or of being particularly remarkable, special or unusual.
?We are all unique in our own way. This month, I’ll be focusing on my uniqueness, in life and at work. I hope you enjoy following me on this journey.
(I tried to do a video, but chickened out.)

2 年I'm a massive believer in core values both personally and in business. For me they basically translate into behaviours and a filter for making decisions. The three I am living by just now are: Be a Life Long Learner Be Curious and never assume Be a good dad They are a work in progress but they in loads on ways you never think they would. Good luck with your journey Stefanie Frank ??

2 年My personal core values, more or less, are based off the golden rule: treat others how you'd want/like to be treated. My own personal hardships and adversities have also taught me the importance of core values. I'm a big believer in respect, kindness, gratitude, appreciation, and perspective. Even just a dash or dose of these can make a remarkable impact in your relationships with people, both at work and in your personal life.
