You are thinking of starting a business, or maybe you already started, and you're not sure - well here is a story about how CEO Amy Freeman went from a homeless teen to the CEO of The Spice & Tea Exchange with a mission of “Creating & sharing the experience of a more flavorful life,” - and here are some of her learned life and business lessons:
- Take it slow and steady. You can't go from A to Z. It's impossible to do. So take your time and find out what drives you and what you're very good at and sow those seeds.
- Find mentors, find people within your community, find jobs that are related to that and you will eventually find opportunities.
- If you want to be a business leader focus on being masterful at becoming a talent scout, and recognize where people's natural abilities or their raw genius lies.
- Everyone wants to give you their opinion, everyone thinks that they can do it better than you. So find a way to filter or balance that out.
