The entrepreneurial journey and building a successful, thriving business isn’t easy. If it was, everyone would do it. But, nothing is impossible – All you need is just a little determination, research, education, and the desire to succeed.

You can become a successful entrepreneur, no matter what age you are, no matter what educational qualification you have.

Being an entrepreneur can be fun, exciting, and sometimes it can also be overwhelming and challenging. But, believe me - the good news is there's a lot that you can do about it. I like to refer to entrepreneurship as a crazy and exciting Roller Coaster ride!

As a passionate entrepreneur, my biggest ambition is to excel further and help others grow and flourish. With this thought in mind, I have compiled some tips which could make your entrepreneurial journey a little bit easier…

Read Books

For us entrepreneurs, reading and learning is very importance. There is no better way than to learn from other experts and their insights. Entrepreneurs with a habit of reading and a willingness to learn are able to connect the dots much better than those who work in isolation.

Today we have many books that are specially designed to help you grow both in life and in business, in order to become a successful entrepreneur. Ideally, you should read for at least 30 minutes a day which will help you learn new skills and take yourself and your business to the next level.

Read inspiring and motivational books, watch educational videos, and even listen to podcasts that help you beat any self-limiting beliefs, teach you new skills, shed light on any challenging areas you are stuck with. Don’t let your struggles keep you from your success.

Personal Development

Personal development should be a part of every entrepreneurs life as it will help in improving your personal skills, develop new skills, it will help in uncovering and eliminating old beliefs and habits that could be holding you back or keeping you stuck, and it will help you grow on a personal level.

Often times we want to achieve big goals but can’t seem to reach those goals, by focusing on personal development you will be able to discover the things that are holding you back, and you will be able to help yourself in moving forward, past your challenges.

Your personal habits and struggles can either cause your business to flourish or it can cause you to stay stuck or perhaps even give up because you can’t move past those struggles.

Make personal development a part of your life to allow you stay ahead of all the challenges that can affect your business and your entrepreneurial journey.

Commitment is the Key

It takes more than interest, or even passion, it takes commitment to be great at something. Yes, it comes down to 'commitment' - if you want great results, you need to be committed.

Being an entrepreneur is not always easy, especially in the early stages of your business. The first 3 years are the toughest ones where you might get to a point where you consider giving up because it seems like you won’t ever get the clientele, or make the sales, you need to keep your business afloat, or you have a few good months and then a few really bad ones.

The key is to stay committed and not to give up. If you are really passionate about what you do, then you have to be committed to stick through the rough times.

Think of a business like a marriage, through sickness and in health, to death do us part…. Your business is like a marriage, it’s a commitment, and you have to stay committed even in those rainy days.

Having a strong enough WHY 

Having a clear understanding of WHY you are doing what you are doing, will help you stay motivated to face the difficult times that are an unavoidable part of the entrepreneurial journey.

A strong why can keep you grounded and focused. Like I mentioned above, being an entrepreneur is not always easy and there will be days when you are ready to just throw in the towel and consider giving up. If you have a big enough “why” then you won’t give up because you focus on your “why” and keep moving forward.

Trust in the process and yourself

This could be one of the best advice I can give you - "Trust the process, yourself and your ability to succeed". If there's one skill you should hone, it's your ability to really trust your self and your ability to make things happen. If you wonder if you will ever succeed, then look back at your past successes and the difficult times you had to go through but came out alright.

Sometimes goals can take longer than others to achieve, and also remember, if you have never had a successful business, you can’t expect to know right out the gate, what to do to make your business a huge success so cut yourself some slack! Just keep moving forward and don’t give up!

Being an entrepreneur means you rely on yourself and no one else. So, trust in the process, believe in yourself and your intuition.

Work with a Coach or Mentor

Working with a Coach or a Mentor is a necessity especially when first starting out because you don’t know, what you don’t know and instead of wasting your time on trying to figure things out yourself, find someone who is already where you want to be that can help you move forward much faster than if you are trying to re-invent the wheel and figure things out on your own.

Sadly, many entrepreneurs they think they have to make money first before they can afford to work with a Coach but this is the wrong type of mindset you can have. Consider this, how much money will you lose out on if you spend months or even years trying to figure everything out yourself, instead of making that investment in yourself and your business and work with someone that can get you ahead in half the time if not sooner.

I give you an example, I had spoken with a Coach before, who has been in business for 4 years and when I asked her how many clients does she have she told me that she has a few clients but they don’t pay but she has been building her business and building up her name and reputation and a lot of people know her and follow her online…….

I was shocked to find out that after 4 years she still had no paying clients and when I asked her if she ever considered working with a Coach that could help her get paying clients, she told me she can’t afford to work with a Coach and she needs to make some money first but she is very close to her breakthrough.

Don’t be like her! Work with a Coach or a Mentor, make that investment in yourself, in your business, in your passion!

Being a successful entrepreneur is about having a passion for what you do and belief deep inside that you can become successful. Belief and trust, that nothing will get in the way of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Apart from the pointers I mentioned above, there are many other factors, for example, you have to be laser focused about what you want and how you will get there, knowing your strengths and improving your weaknesses. It is important that you surround yourself with positive and successful entrepreneurs – you become who you surround yourself with, isn’t it?

Entrepreneurs, are movers and shakers. Don’t get sucked into perfectionism, focus on completion and keep moving forward and take action.

After trying everything, if nothing works, don’t get discouraged – there is always a solution to every problem. Consider this - difficult situations makes us strong, right? There are plenty of resources available that can help you move forward.
