CMR Nepal Journalism Academy
An initiative of CMR-Nepal to provide training to mid-career journalists to digitally transform journalism.
Hello and Namaste!
Welcome to 2023 August edition of our newsletter.
July 2023 was a busy month here at the CMR-Nepal Journalism Academy as we hosted 25 journalists for two training sessions.
Podcasting Course: We launched our first-ever podcasting course on July 16. 12 aspiring podcasters participated in first attendance phase that concluded on July 21. The course was facilitated by Interlink Academy trainer Brigitte Hagedorn, and she was assisted by Journalism Academy's trainers - Shreeram Paudel and Rabiraj Baral. The trainees are currently attending the elearning phase and will return to complete their course on September 3. See some more photos from the course here.
13 New Data Journalists: On July 23, 13 journalists returned to complete the Data Driven Journalism course after six weeks of elearning. Their 6-day second attendance phase was filled with some revision, some new skills and tools, data journalism news project and a lot of fun. On July 28, they received certificates for successfully completing our 6+6+6 model course. With this, the number of our trainees trained in data driven journalism reached 49! Trainers Umesh Shrestha, Tilak Pathak and Arun Karki facilitated the course. See photos here.
