Welcome to Second (February 2023) edition of our newsletter. We will give you brief updates on our activities and training:
- Mobile Journalism Training 2023: We conducted first attendance phase of our first training on mobile journalism. A total of 12 participant attended six days of intensive face-to-face training that also included some refreshing field works, a welcome social dinner and lots of learning with fun at the Academy. The participants will now attend 6-week of elearning before coming back in March for final 6 days of face-to-face session. Our trainers Bikash Karki, Shruti Shrestha and Nasana Bajacharya worked with them.
- Massive Response on Call for Application on Data Journalism Training 2023: We received applications from 81 journalists for our data driven journalism course set to begin in February. The selection committee will select 12 or 24 participants for the training.
- We also published a vacancy for the post Office Administrator and received 48 applications. We will soon be shortlisting and interviewing applicants to find a colleague to support our works.
- Ukeraa.com has published an article focusing on media training and education after sitting with our director Ujjwal Acharya. Read the article here (in Nepali).
- Meanwhile, Center for Media Research - Nepal (CMR-Nepal) is crunching on data of 8,500+ election-related news between September - November 2022 published in 27 media all over Nepal as well as looking at the collection of potential misinformation monitored during the period. The results of the studies will be out in coming days.
- CMR-Nepal also conducted roundtable discussion on misinformation with stakeholders in all 7 provinces of Nepal.
