Journal Week1 - Let it sink in

I started my first journal when I was about 17 and it's really too bad that it got lost somewhere during my numerous moves. 17-21 were my wild years, full of rebellion against all kinds of authorities, love stories, dramas, extraordinary moments and people, battles with my own demons and other people's expectations. It was quite a ride and writing it all down was therapy.

The other day I was writing a post about my arrival to Switzerland 15 years ago and all the things that happened since and it got me thinking how I never documented it. Not even when I started my first business or the second one. I find it such a pity not having anything to go back to those feelings and experiences. Travel down the memory line and a content goldmine at the same time.

Time to change that.

There is so much going on in my business and life, writing about it will help me document and process it. Writing publicly will be at minimum entertaining and at best interesting and beneficial to others.

Setting the scene...

Even though I consulted already before, I have officially started my consulting business in 2019. 2021 is the year of change. My initial business model wasn't smart or scalable and soon enough I hit an income plateau and a creative burnout. Long term clients represent great financial stability but having a business built 90% on this gets repetitive and boring over time.

In October 2020 I took some time away to look inwards and understand what needs to change so I can make more money, have more fun and work less.

2021 I repositioned, my activity shifted to mainly coaching and mentoring and I keep only a handful of long-term clients in consulting.

It took some time but I got a pretty clear idea of what to do but I struggled to know how to get it done. My planned new program seemed so different and unorthodox amongst the coaching programs available here in Switzerland but by searching I realised it is not uncommon in other regions.

In the past half-year, I have invested close to 40k CHF into personal development, business coaching, outsourcing and upgrading the structure of my business. This is what happens when you get complete clarity about your business. It allows you to put a massive action behind your intention and bring it home (ehm, that is still something to see).

The first concrete result of this upgrade was an event I could only imagine in my wildest dreams still a year ago. The first event of this type in Switzerland: Women CEO business nature retreat.

An incredible group of 10 women business owners with businesses between 2-8 years old signed up for this experience and in a stunning environment in Valais, we worked on their vision, (re)defined what thrive means to them and designed their high-level plan to achieve that Big Fat Audacious Goal.

This happened only two weeks ago (17-20th September) and is still pretty fresh for me. I'm living and reliving those amazing moments on daily basis. Especially over the past week, as I was collecting the feedback forms, and with the full photo gallery that I just received from our amazing private photographer present at the retreat to document it.

The success of this event just confirmed what I knew all along, that this is a brilliant idea, that there is a need for an extraordinary event like this, that brings together business and nature, creates a full immersion and gathers amazing creative and ambitious women.

I plan to organize these types of events on a regular basis and open them also for the international community. It is incredible yet true, but there is already a waitlist for the next one coming up in a year of time.

Next week will be all about outlining my new supercharged coaching program in Kartra, creating more content on Linkedin and animating the Consistency to Success accountability group that I have launched after the retreat.

Also, my back is kind of killing me these days so I'm back to my morning yoga routine. 10-15 mins with Kassandra, can't recommend these enough. She presents it in such convenient short bites that it is easy to incorporate even to a very busy schedule. This routine is the one I did this morning while the kids were lazying around and having fun of me.

I love this Alena! Keep it up. Nothing more authentic and engaging than getting a peak into someone's journal... reminds me that I should think of sharing more too, especially as journalling has also been in my DNA and a 'therapy' since I was 10. I recently found said journal aged 10 and 3/4 (apparently that was important) and the amusement!! ??
