The Joos Site: LaunchPad's lift-off

Joos is Europe's only vertically integrated shared power bank supplier. It has locations all over the United Kingdom, ranging from hospitals to bars and coffee shops to malls.

Their website provides all information about the company’s wide-ranging social impact, venues, customer support and how you can set up a power bank station at your own location.

The Hatless Touch

Joos first approached Hatless in March of 2021, with the goal of maintaining and creating pages for their website. We started working on creating a submission form page so that prospective customers could easily sign up for power bank stations to be set up in new venues.

This operation quickly grew into us developing and redesigning the entire site. Since, we've added custom animations, slideshows, designs and mobile-specific pages.

As Joos has expanded its operations to more industries and locations, we have been able to iteratively update the website and add user-friendly features. This included the integration of a live chatbot and custom hyperlinks that take the user directly to the Apple/Google app store depending on their device.

Additionally, one of the most challenging operations that we conducted involved performing a server migration from one hosting server to another. This helped to improve the page speed and overall performance of the website by 21%, greatly enhancing the user experience.

The Tech

The Joos website is built on the WordPress platform so the main frameworks used are HTML, JavaScript and CSS in order to build the interactive website and pages. Our server migration involved software architecture and cloud knowledge, specifically AWS systems and Linux domain knowledge. Work on the Joos website falls under our LaunchPad team.

The LaunchPad team works to develop websites/landing pages by harnessing the developer-friendly features of Shopify and WordPress. These templating sites are used to focus on the frontend features of a website and allow the clients to easily update sections and blogs of the website easily, while keeping costs low.
