The Jombay Journey_2020

The response I have received after the recent announcement of the 40 under 40 list has been overwhelming.

This year has been challenging for everyone but the Jombay team has shown tremendous agility by managing the program virtually.

Many people have reached out to with queries regarding the Jombay Journey over the past few months. While most questions were basic like how difficult was it, what methodology was used and so on. However, some questions have made me write this post.

Below mentioned are some of the queries with my response

-      What all rounds does one need to go through - The format (rounds) would change each year. the format for 2020 was designed basis the pandemic. This year we had 4 rounds (Shark Tank assignment, Video Interview, Virtual Assessment Center, iDev microlearning platform) for top 100. In addition, one jury interview for top 40.

-      An organisation needs to avail Jombay services to allow their HR participate - No. Any HR professional below the age of 40 years can participate.

-      One needs to have a lot of experience to participate – No. Participate once you think you are ready to invest in self-learning. There are a lot of young professionals who participate and make it to the list of top HRs.

-      It is a lot of work and time consuming. Work-life balance will be affected and I don’t have spare time – Well, the journey is challenging and many a times you will be under tremendous pressure to deliver. But there are pre-defined timelines which help you plan better.

-      Now that its virtual, networking and evaluations won’t be effective - There are 105 (top 100) others who will echo my thoughts when I say that some connections and bonds have formed. Though the batch of 2020 has interacted only virtually there is a lot of learning, support for each other and good vibes. We have also connected with some amazing mentors who have invested in us during this journey.
