Joining Pink.gg as CRO

I am delighted to announce that I have joined Pink.gg as their first Chief Revenue Officer.

Pink.gg is a leading European #blockchain technology and media company. We own and operate the AtomicHub.io NFT marketplace and the NFTInsider.io NFT community-focused media hub, and we have many other exciting developments in the pipeline.

What’s an AtomicHub?

Today, AtomicHub.io is the largest NFT marketplace in the world by daily transaction volume, and one of the top-10 by daily transaction value. This is the result of focusing on low-cost high-volume game items, collectibles and creative arts - NFTs that are used, collected and traded every day around the world.

Pink.gg? Never heard of them.

I met Pink.gg founders Jona & Fabian earlier this year. They impressed me with their product and technology acumen, sincerity and vision. Their story is a rare European take on the Silicon Valley Founder Origin Myth: two friends who dropped out of the Technical University of Munich to build something cool, which grew and grew and grew.?

A few years ago, they set out to build a blockchain game, but first needed to build an EOSIO smart contract for NFT marketplaces - so they had a foundation to build upon. They created AtomicAssets, an open source NFT standard, and then the AtomicMarket, a shared-liquidity NFT market smart contract which today is used by all of the marketplaces in the carbon-neutral #WAX/#WAXP & #EOS/#EOSIO ecosystems.

Since then, AtomicHub - built on top of the AtomicMarket NFT smart contract, utilizing the AtomicAssets NFT standard - has processed more than USD $500,000,000 in NFT transactions. Not a typo.

I thought NFTs were dead?

I know it’s a contrarian perspective for me to jump into an industry where media headlines 2 weeks ago shouted that NFT trading is reportedly down 99% (!!!) since May. That’s not just an industry in trouble or in structural decline; it’s an industry being eviscerated and annihilated.

Except … the media headlines are wrong. Or at least wrong when it comes to our business.

Reality Check

I have spent the last month meeting stakeholders in our company and broader ecosystem. We are not just commiserating and toasting better days. We are speaking about vision, roadmap, underlying trends and actually looking at the data.

There is no delusion, but there is also no despair. We are still at the beginning of a movement that will fundamentally change (at least) how games are played online, and probably how many other adjacent and extended aspects of life are conducted on the blockchain with NFTs in a #SSI #web3 world.

Today, we have 2.3MM connected wallets. We are processing 55K transactions per day in 181 different countries, even during the grizzliest days of the bear market.

And why is that? Because people love buying, selling, trading, collecting and using NFTs. There are many reasons for that, which I won’t dive into today.

What’s this new gig?

I have invested tremendous time, energy and other resources into the NFT community over the last 5 years - mostly for intellectual reasons, to keep up with the cultural zeitgeist, and nominally for financial speculation. I had some LOLs, wins and losses along the way, but my best pick so far was connecting with Pink.gg. At the very least, this is going to be a fun, fascinating and educational ride.

My role as CRO is to grow the business with strategic initiatives and partnerships. We want:

• More NFT content!?
• More NFT creators!?
• More NFT innovators!?
• More game studios building on blockchain!?
• More IP holders wanting to explore opportunities with NFT Marketplaces
• Partnerships with adjacent industries
• Interesting ideas
