Changing Jobs

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median number of years a worker has been with their current employer is 4.6 years. Most would agree that changing jobs can be filled with anxiety and stress, yet it’s something each of us will likely do several times in our careers. Last month I went through this transition and can attest to the fact that it can be stressful but doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Many have asked me about my transition so I decided to share a few thoughts.

7+ years at Authorize.Net and Visa

My career with Authorize.Net and Visa was extremely fulfilling and provided me
with many opportunities to grow, learn and develop the skills and qualities to be an effective leader. Visa’s investment in me even included a two year ex-pat assignment in the UK. I can’t say enough of how appreciative I am to Visa for providing so many opportunities; it will define my career for years to come. On top of fantastic colleagues and employees I also had the best coach, leader and friend in John Bodine. After a 13+ year career with Authorize.Net he recently retired and is spending a year serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ghana, Africa. InsideSales.com

Many have asked me why I left such an incredible opportunity; the short answer is that I completely believe in the founders and vision of InsideSales.com.

I have followed InsideSales for the past year or two and am continually impressed with the vision, platform and underlying belief that by using data and science we can unlock human potential within sales and other applications. I was impressed enough that I became a potential client, attended Ken Krogue’s basecamp and knew that this company was on the cusp of greatness.

Accelerating Partnerships

My role at InsideSales.com is to build the partner program. It is a big endeavor that includes creating solutions and tools that enable partners to be successful while building strong, long lasting relationships with all types of partners. Each day has been more exciting than the last and the opportunity is much larger than what I first envisioned. I am fortunate to have great leadership supporting me including industry veterans Avanish Sahai and Jim Steele. Well said, Steven. Intent shines through...regardless of whether we want it to. A sincere desire to help others must be at the foundation of successful sales.

The whole world would be a better place if we simply focused on a partner program approach for any sale... Just simply approaching anyone with a "how can I help you grow your business first" and caring less about how to line your own pockets should be sales 101 that every company or sales manager teaches his reps. Glad to have you aboard.... I think Jim and Avanische came only because there were rumblings of your coming from Authorize.net if we tell it like it is??

I am glad you made the move. I think anyone who works or purchases InsideSales.com has the same reason. They believe in vision. We are literally on a rocket ship.
