We are pleased to share the progress on the Atlanta Beltline with the opening of Segment One of the Northeast Trail near Piedmont Park. This nearly one-mile section links the Eastside Trail to Midtown, Virginia-Highland, and Morningside neighborhoods, providing a safe and picturesque path for pedestrians, cyclists, and students traveling to Midtown High School.?Enhanced with new lighting, cameras, and safety upgrades at 10th Street and Monroe, this segment improves accessibility while fostering stronger community connections and active lifestyles. Mayor Andre Dickens noted that by 2030, the entire 22-mile Beltline loop will be complete, with 85% already under construction or finished by the end of this year. This milestone is another step toward a more connected and vibrant Atlanta.

BCC Engineering is proud to announce our recent award of the River Mill Trail Design project in Canton, Georgia. This transformative 0.32-mile, 10-foot-wide shared-use path along a utility easement will connect the historic Mill on Etowah to the regional trail network, including Heritage Park and Boling Park. Designed to create a seamless, accessible route along the scenic Etowah River, the project will enhance community connectivity and outdoor experiences. We are also integrating this trail with the nearby River Mill Pedestrian Bridge, linking both sides of the river to further improve accessibility and appeal.

We are deeply grateful for the dedication, resilience, and unique perspectives our veterans bring to BCC Engineering. Their commitment to service continues to enrich our work and our community. One of our valued team members, Anthony Shaw, reflects on his service: “I take great pride in having joined the United States Army at a young age. At that time, I didn’t have many options for my future, and enlisting in the Army provided me with a clear path. As a veteran, it has benefited me in numerous ways, from education to medical care.”

The BCC TEO Team, under the leadership of O&M Consulting Engineering, PSC, is helping with significant safety improvements on Puerto Rico’s toll roads for Metropistas (Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico, LLC). We're focused on the PR-52, 66, 53, and 20 Toll Roads, carrying out a comprehensive assessment of assets like drainage, traffic safety features, signage, lighting, and electrical systems. ? The team is compiling a detailed inventory of these assets in ArcGIS, which will help us track conditions and identify areas for improvement. With this data, we’re developing plans for targeted repairs and upgrades under an accelerated schedule. Completion is set for the end of 2025, helping to keep Puerto Rico’s roads safer and more efficient for all.
