?? Join Voyage's Exciting Windrush Elders Project! ??
Are you a young person aged between 16 - 19 years old in Hackney, Islington, Camden, Haringey, Tower Hamlets? Do you have a passion for history, learning and connecting with our elders from Hackneys pioneering African and Caribbean community? If so, we want YOU to be part of our unique Windrush Elders Work Experience Project in Hackney!
Here's what you'll be doing:
????Immersive Learning and Training:?an initial period of immersive learning and training supported by professionals, gaining valuable oral history, archive collection skills and historical insights along the way.
????Building Relationships:?Through visitations develop meaningful connections with our Hackney-based elders, learning from their rich experiences and life stories.
?????Assistance in Caribbean Lunch Clubs:?As helpers assist at our vibrant Caribbean lunch clubs, helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable afternoons.
?????Seaside Trip for Windrush Day:?Plan and accompany our elders on a special trip to the seaside to celebrate Windrush Day on June 22nd, 2024.
?????Interviews and Exhibition:?Over the summer months with our elders, conduct interviews, shape content for a photographic shoot and exhibition, for a captivating Windrush Elders 2024 book for completion in September/ October 2024.
????Availability:?Participants MUST be available on Saturdays, during half term and holiday periods, and some Tuesday/ Thursday evenings starting 14th May 2024
