Join us to Raise Mental Health Awareness this May

May is Mental Health Month -- an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness around mental health and overall well-being. Join in and learn more about how Aetna partners with our members and their caregivers on their emotional journey.

I believe everyone should have access to the care and empathy they need. As I describe in my video, through my own struggles, I learned how it important it is to break down barriers and reduce stigmas around mental health. I encourage you to learn more about the importance of behavioral health awareness and participate in the following upcoming activities.

• On Twitter, join the interactive #MentalHealthMonday social media campaign by following @Aetna.
• The cupola at our Hartford location will shine green in honor of mental health awareness for most of the month.
• Later this month, watch for the launch of Aetna 360TM Behavioral Health and learn more about our peer support program.
• Join the conversation around mental health awareness by taking part in the Stamp Out Stigma live Twitter chat on May 29 from 2 – 3 p.m ET. The @AetnaNews twitter handle will participate with many of our partners: Active Minds, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Change Direction, Give an Hour, Mental Health First Aid, NAMI, Shatterproof, Children of Promise, National Council for Behavioral Health and others.
