Today we are not going to tell you about the treks. Rather, today let us take you to the mountains through the diary entry of one of our basecamp managers, to witness the magic that is taking place right now!?
Today’s entry [01 Feb, 2024],
Ever since I have been appointed as the basecamp manager in Lohajung for the iconic Brahmatal trek, I have been greeted with one major question from our trekkers – “when will the snowfall start?†Honestly, I was getting a bit worried as this year stories were abundant about less snowfall in the Himalayas! To think, famous skiing destinations like Auli, Gulmarg are suffering due to this change is scary enough! Global warming!?
And I was aghast to have no definite answers to the most anticipated event of winter treks – the grand entrance of incessant snowfall! I was missing it, too.?
But to put all worries at rest finally, benevolent nature has started gracing the slopes! The powdery snowfall has started blanketing the trails, and campsites to everyone’s delight! What a sight to experience!??
Today has been an absolute marvel in the mountains. The freezing air, the whitewashed landscape, and the ethereal beauty of fresh snowfall have left me awestruck. As the basecamp manager, witnessing nature's spectacle is both a privilege and a joy.
As our cheerful trekkers started sharing the videos and images we could witness that they were greeted with a pristine white wonderland, each step leaving behind a mark on the virgin snow. The silence is profound, broken only by the soft crunch of snow beneath their boots. The pine trees stand adorned in white, their branches delicately holding the weight of the fluffy snowflakes. It's a sight that words can hardly capture, a symphony of nature that fills the heart with gratitude.
Tonight, around the campfire, tales of the day's trek will be shared, and laughter will resonate in the cold mountain air. As a basecamp manager, I cherish these moments with a thankful heart as these moments of natural splendor make every challenge worthwhile.
