While the transition period may have been agreed, much political and legal uncertainty remains. Despite this, practical steps can be taken to help your strategic planning and, as a part of that, understanding the potential post-Brexit landscape is key in helping shape the decisions on investment for 2019/2020 that are starting to be made.
Issues like appreciating what the WTO model or the UK being a '3rd Country' will mean for your UK/EU supply chain, what might happen with the borders and tariffs, and where the government's trade policy might help open new markets are all key to planning.
We invite you to hear from The Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, Minister of State for Trade Policy in the Department for International Trade. The Minister will be sharing insights on the Government's international trade policy post-Brexit, giving you key insights and practical advice, which can help influence your investment decisions.
Following the Minister's address, we will hear from:
- Stuart Harbinson, former Chief of Staff and Special Adviser to two Directors-General of the World Trade Organisation and Trade Negotiator for Hong Kong
- Vassilis Akritidis, DWF Partner, Head of International Trade & WTO
There will then be a chance to pose your questions to the panel and take part in the discussion
The event will take place at 0830 (for 9am) on 25 April in our London office.
I hope to see you there!
