Join Team Sage in the Hackney Half!
I am so delighted to share that our half marathon challenge is back on! I’m joined by Team Sage in the Hackney Half Marathon taking place on 20 May – we’ve trained hard, we’ve got the kit and now all we need are some enthusiastic supporters to help us along the way!
The Hackney Half is an incredibly vibrant event, much like the host area; it’s 13.1 miles through the historical streets, flat and fast. It’s guaranteed to be a great atmosphere! We’re running to raise money as part of our Sage Foundation $1 million Challenge with many colleagues, running for charities close to their heart.
I’m running for Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project (CVYP) – they’re fundraising for outdoor activity centre in Northumberland that will provide incredible facilities for young people. We are doing really well against the target, having raised over ￡100,000, and hope that this half marathon will help us raise what’s needed to build this facility. Sage has cheer points at miles five and six – I’d be delighted to see you there and will even commit to wearing a green wig if we get enough supporters!
We’ve all trained so hard and I’m so proud of Team Sage for keeping the momentum of the challenge – not at all put off by the snowy conditions at the Reading Half Marathon where we were defeated by snow!
