We are the lucky ones.
The COVID-19 vaccine has restored everyday life for many of us, allowing us to safely see friends and family, return to school or work, and chase our passions while protected from this once-in-a-century virus.
We must also remember that the pandemic is not over. The distribution of vaccines has varied dramatically between global regions. People living in undeveloped countries, especially those in Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, and Central and South America, still cannot get their shots.
At Russell Reynolds Associates, we want to help our global neighbors. Today, we announced a partnership with Go Give One, a global fundraising campaign created by the World Health Organization Foundation to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to those that need them most.
An Opportunity to Provide Vaccines
Working among a coalition with Salesforce, Workday, PagerDuty and Pledge 1%, RRA aims to help raise over $5 million this month. To start the campaign, the coalition partners have collectively donated $900,000. Further, we have pledged to reach out to our extended network of leaders, executives and innovators to join us in this vital cause.
Go Give One will send the money to the Gavi Alliance, a public-private global health partnership created in 2000 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Gavi will provide one vaccine dose for every $5 raised to those living in low- and middle-income economies, offering critical protection for those in areas without easy access to vaccines.
Each dose is an opportunity to allow someone to safely resume their life, see loved ones and have peace of mind that they will be safe. We are calling on every individual in the RRA community to donate $5 to this effort.
We continually strive to improve the way the world is led. Leadership takes many forms, but none is perhaps more important than identifying people in need and making every effort to help. Like all of you, the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us in ways we never imagined. This is an opportunity to fight back against this disease. We can help provide the rest of the world with the same chance to resume the life that the rest of us have already achieved.
How You Can Help

3 年Indeed, leadership takes many forms, but none is perhaps more important than identifying people in need and making every effort to help. The best leaders are almost always those who identify people in need and make every effort to help them. Not many know this, but the real definition of leadership is the noun form of the verb "to lead". In other words, leaders are simply those who take others (followers or peers) somewhere worth going. Clarke Murphy Thanks for sharing.
